Next Launcher 3D: Android Launcher with the Price of a Headache.

This launcher is supposed to be about sixteen dollars if I'm not mistaken. But today, for today only, you can download the app (lite version) for free as long as you type in the right activation code.

Before I tell you about that though, lemme just put in my two cents.

I downloaded the app on both my tablet and my phone, just to check things out. I like the Go Launcher, and use it on my phone. However the regular launcher is just fine for me on my tablet. But I figured "hey, it's free, might as well try". And try I did.

So the default picture isn't the right resolution for my tablet, go figure. There are plenty of other themes. About ten of them. (Some of which aren't free, but that's to be expected.) I shrugged that off and continued. Also as expected of Go, the majority of the icons and widgets displayed are just advertisements. I clicked on a few, shrugged, and deleted them all promptly. I have Widgetsoid, so I didn't need the fancy Go widget for that. I like my Google Calendar widget just fine, and I really didn't like the Go cleaners/task managers. The music widget did look nice, however it wasn't compatible with my tablet. Then my head started to hurt a little. Odd.

I checked up on my phone, installed one of the themes, and started messing around. All of my widgets and app icons from Go Launchers weren't there, so I decided to start customizing.

With Go Launcher you're able to stop apps from the app menu. I really like that feature. Unfortunately, that seems to be missing with this one. So there's the biggest disappointment so far. Then I tried long-pressing app icons to put them onto the main screen. Well, I could do so for the first page of apps. But for whatever reason, I'm not able to scroll to see the rest of my list. I dunno. It's irritating though. At this point, I have a full-blown headache and my eyes are sore. Oh, I got it now. Just goes to show, if it doesn't work the first time, come back to it after a couple of seconds. -_-

It may or may not have something to do with the fact that when you scroll to the next page of your apps, you get a little white flash. Kind of. At a closer look, the app menu zooms out and turns into a rectangular prism, the four main faces turning a white color. If anyone else has this experience (meaning the headaches), please let me know so I know I'm not weird. xD

Okay now this is a weird glitch. I was going through the preferences, just now. And all of a sudden my screen went black. When it came back, all of the text on the preferences menu got larger. No joke. I don't like it though. I was actually thinking about just how much I like the new preferences menu. Jeez. Lookit all these nice things I can't have. But when I backed out and got back in, everything went back to normal, so that's good at least.

Also, this way of arranging apps.. I'm not digging it. My icons aren't the same size (though I guess that's fixable with changing the themes of the icons), and I haven't found a snap-to-grid option yet. My apps are just kind of floating around. I guess it's neat that they can overlap though..?

I dunno. This might be a bit much for me. And if that's the case, I'll just switch back to using Go Launcher EX.

So to get it for free, here's what ya do:

Install the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gtp.nextlauncher.trial&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5ndHAubmV4dGxhdW5jaGVyLnRyaWFsIl0.

Hit "FREE" when the option pops up.

Go to menu (it'll be three dots on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen), and hit "Preferences"

Click "About Full Version", and then "Activate". (Don't worry if it's grayed out, it still works)

Type in the first box "nextlauncher3d" and in the second box: "appoftheday".

And there you go!
